And we’re back with 2 great premieres this November!
First up: Megumi, premiering 14/11/09.
Megumi tells the tale of 13-year-old Japanese schoolgirl, Megumi Yokota, who was abducted on 15 November 1977 on her way back from school. The story of Megumi’s disappearance may never be resolved, but Megumi’s family, friends and even strangers remain unshakeable in their faith that the girl is still alive, still pinning for her eventual return. The film fuses documentary with drama to investigate one of the most bizarre episodes in recent Japanese history, revisiting the site of the abduction, recreating some of the events in this strange tale and trying to bring the elusive character of Megumi to life.
PSSST! We’re giving away a Megumi poster with every pair of Megumi tickets purchased, so don’t miss out!

She discovers that an Indian courier and a Chinese man are possible suspects to her brother’s death. Salawati is left with a choice that will change the lives of everyone through this test of faith and forgiveness.
Featuring local stars such as Mastura Ahmad (Calefare) and Fish Charr (Fighting Spiders), Salawati was an Official Selection at the Seattle Internation Film Festival and won ‘Best Feature’ and ‘Best Actress’ at the Gotham Screen International Film Festival this year.
