The Canon FilmFIVE Festival aims to recognise creative youths who could be highly adept in the film industry. An initiative by Canon Singapore, the FilmFIVE Festival strive to seek out and nurture emerging young filmmakers, creating a platform to positively express their stories through motions and films.

The FilmFIVE Festival Short Film Competition 2019, a segment of the FilmFIVE Festival, is now open for submissions.

In collaboration with National Council on Problem Gambling this year, Canon seeks to bring awareness of problem gambling among youths nowadays. Without being too literal about problem gambling in your short film, Canon is looking for entries that strike the right balance between capturing the audiences’ heart and mind and also bringing awareness.

In a team of 3-5,  participants are expected to produce a 5-minute short film based on the given theme. Submissions will be judged on their cinematography skills, story originality, technical qualities, relevance and audience engagement.

The theme for the short films is: Re… (Any word that starts with ‘Re’)

Submissions must be produced between 29th April 2019 –  13th September 2019.

More information can be found at the official website here.
