SeaShorts Film Festival organised annually by the Malaysian filmmaking initiative Next New Wave (NNW) brings together festival directors and filmmakers to celebrate Southeast Asian Filmmaking.

Previous years have seen the screening of over 100 Southeast Asian short films submitted by young filmmakers competing for the SeaShorts and Next New Wave Awards. To find out more about SeaShorts, you can visit NNW’s website. Submission into this year’s competitions is also currently open and you can find out more here.

This year also sees the launch of a campaign to help more students and young filmmakers attend the 5-day festival in Malacca that also has discussion panels and filmmaking classes that can benefit them immensely.

To support this initiative so that SeaShorts can bring in more young and aspiring filmmakers, you can pitch in by making a donation here.

All donations will be contributed to students’ cost of attendance and/or accommodation. More importantly, it will help them take a step further into their filmmaking dream.
