GWK’s atmosphere was getting a notch higher when Thai comedy king Bie The Ska showed off his outrageous dance moves, topped up by China Mandopop star Guan Zhe with arguably the most powerful vocal performance of the night. Cutie pie J-POP star Iris Woo, who is Malaysian, belted out her Japanese single I Love Me then more cute Indonesian girls performance with Shojo Complex went up.

The show took an interesting (and funny) turn with VFA host WebTVAsia introducing its Asia Hot Angels reality series talent in a 10-minute “Dance Battle” game segment with one of its Angels DJ Nicole spinning club music, and hosted by British-Malaysian emcees Mark O’Dea and Steven Lim.

Joyce Chu (Malaysia)

The final countdown was reaching its climax with Asia’s YouTube pop princess Joyce Chu (Malaysia) performing the two most viral Chinese songs ever Malaysia Chabor and I Miss You, and the top two Indonesian rival rap groups Young Lex and Skinny Indonesian 24 were pitted against each in an epic rap battle.

MC Mong (South Korea)

More top-of-its-class rap came from Korean hiphop mogul MC Mong, who did 3 fantastic numbers in anticipation for the two most awaited acts of the night: K-POP superstar Hyuna and India No.1 rapper Badshah who were undisputedly the biggest crowd pullers.

Hyuna (South Korea)

By the time Badshah and his dancers rolled out DJ Waley Babu (80 million YouTube hit & Party Anthem of 2015), the 8,000 revellers were already louder than the booming sound system. As he exited the stage, shouts of “Hyuna! Hyuna! Hyuna!” were deafening, ushering in the former Wonder Girls and current 4 Minute lead with four of her biggest hits: Roll Deep, Bubble Pop, Ice Cream and Red.

In the spirit of “Everybody’s Going Viral”, the main concert closed with all the Asian digital influencers and creators (who attended as guests of WebTVAsia) going onstage to do simultaneous “selfies”, “wefies” and “live broadcast” to a combined social media fanbase of 150 million.

The music festival continued on through the night with an EDM party featuring three of the most popular DJs in the scene: Yasmin (Asia’s hottest female DJ), Al Ghazali (Indonesian rising young star) and Kenneth G from the Netherlands.
