The annual Perspectives Film Festival: Breakthroughs in Cinema, returns this year for its eighth edition from 15th to 18th October with the theme of “Transitions”. Organised by undergraduates from Nanyang Technological University as an annual practicum course run by the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, this year festival comprises of seven screenings of global films including a winning film of the Cannes Film Festival’s Jury Prize, together with industry talks and workshops.

The film screenings are promised to bring audiences on exciting adventures to the lands they have never explored, connecting with the characters from different eras, whose stories they have never imagined, “from child refugees at the Iraq-Turkish border to the drag queens in the great Australian Outback”. Those films include:

Landscape in the Mist (Director Theodoros Angelopoulos, 1988)
Turtles Can Fly (Director Bahman Ghobadi, 2004)
