KL date for Hong Kong film
KUALA LUMPUR: Scenic Kuala Lumpur will soon be featured in Hong Kong director Dante Lam’s new action thriller, tentatively titled Against War and starring Taiwanese singer-actor Jay Chou (pic). Among locations slated for shooting, due to start next month, are the old Kuala Lumpur Railway Station, Dataran Merdeka, KLCC, Sunway Lagoon, and the Maju Expressway.
Sources told The Malay Mail Lam, who was in KL on a scouting mission recently, had also chosen the Golden Triangle for some downtown scenes. Jordan was also slated for filming but it has been put on hold due to political unrest there.
Apparently, Hong Kong actor Nicholas Tse, who won the Best Actor award at the recent 30th Hong Kong Film Awards, was due to meet with the production crew in Jordan recently but withdrew due to the situation there.
That did not deter Lam from continuing with his project.
A spokesperson for Chou said he would follow any arrangement the film company made. Earlier this year, Chou appeared in the Hollywood film The Green Hornet, in the role of Kato (a role which shot Bruce Lee to international stardom in the mid-1960s), and the film has grossed US$230 million (RM460 million) worldwide.
