Event introduces overseas film industry to Chinese cinema1 min read

A total of 62 Chinese films, including director Feng Xiaogang’s high-grossing comedy If You Are the One II, have been selected for an official screening program in hopes of accessing overseas markets.

This year’s “Beijing Screenings,” an event scheduled to run from April 23 to 26, will host more than 150 overseas guests from the film industry.

The guests will attend screenings of films ranging from commercial blockbusters to small-budget projects, according to a statement released Wednesday by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT), the event’s organizer.

Selected films include My Own Swordsman, a theatrical sequel to a popular Chinese TV comedy series with the same title, and The Floating Shadow, a critically-acclaimed art film by emerging director Jia Dongshuo.
