Ishiguro’s ‘Never Let Me Go’ Set for the Stage

”Never Let Me Go,” Kazuo Ishiguro’s Booker Prize-shortlisted 2005 novel and now a major Hollywood film, is set to have its own theater production in Japan, the Japanese-English novelist told Speakeasy.

“We are discussing a possible theater production in Japan for ‘Never Let Me Go.’

I just came back from Japan and I was talking about it. At the moment, we are talking in about two and a half years time,” he said, speaking on the sidelines of a private screening of the film hosted by American Express at Soho Hotel in Central London last Sunday.

Pressed about his other plans, Ishiguro coyly said: “I am writing a novel which is what I am always doing. There is another film project I am discussing at the moment.”
