A two-day film festival on ‘climate change and livelihood resilience’ began on Saturday at the MGPG College.

The film festival is being organised jointly by the Gorakhpur Environmental Action Group (GEAG) and botany department of the College. As many as 49 films would be screened during the festival.

Inaugurating the festival, the director of Peepli Live, Anuska Rizvi, said that small documentary films play a special role which commercial films cannot play.

“The social change could be initiated from small cities and towns and not from cosmopolitan cities,” she said and added that there is no dearth of talent in rural areas.
