Sasikumar’s Subramania- puram (2008) was a landmark film, which, in many ways, changed filmmaking in Tamil cinema.

The crux of the film was about a group of friends who unite against all odds to surmount the impossible.

About the boom in movies on friendship, Sasikumar says, “The friendship theme lends scope for many interesting situations and stories. Everyone can connect with films that revolve around friendships.”

“It’s a very interesting relationship to explore. Each director who has handled the subject has had something interesting to say.”
