Regional broadcaster MediaCorp has bagged the Terrestrial Broadcaster of the Year accolade at the annual Asian Television Awards.
It had won the Terrestrial Broadcaster of the Year award in 2007 and 2008. Terrestrial Broadcaster was not a category in 2009.
MediaCorp’s Channel 5 “The Noose” won Best Comedy Programme, with actor Chua En Lai bagging the Best Comedy Performance by an Actor or Actress award.
Remesh Kumar, Vice President of Content Creation Division, MediaCorp TV, said: “For “The Noose”, we were lucky to have a very fantastic cast and we have a group of writers who are really, really very good and you know “The Noose” is a satire and a parody of Singapore life. And to write something creatively and make a joke out of it – and Singaporeans enjoy that.”
