Taiwanese films win five awards at APFF
None of the key awards at the 54th Asia Pacific Film Festival held at the Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall were won by Taiwanese or Chinese films.
However, Taiwan managed to take five awards, including the Best Short Film award and a Special Contribution Award.
There were 56 films from 18 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including 12 Taiwanese ones, vying for awards at the festival, with the figures hitting record highs.
The Best Short Film award was won by a Taiwanese film, “Sleeping with Her,” directed by Wen Chih-yi. It describes how an Indonesian care-giver managed to deal with well a weird Taiwanese grandmother.
