Competition for slots at this heavy cinema-going time of year is intense, and the decision is made by the Chinese biz colossus, China Film.
Initially known as a comedian, Ge has established himself as China’s most sought-after thesp, and he plays three very different roles in the three year-end movies.
Feng Xiaogang is China’s most bankable helmer and “If you are the one” took $49 million in 2008. He again collaborates with producers Huayi Brothers on the $7.5-million follow-up “If you are the one 2,” while Hong Kong’s Media Asia are also invoved as are Zhejiang Film Group and Universal Hot Brother Film/Music Co.
