M’sia Creative Industry Approved With RM130 Million Funding

The cabinet approved the National Creative Industry Policy with a funding of RM130 million on Friday.

With the funding, sectors related to the industry such as multimedia, arts and culture as well as heritage would have a bright future, said Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim.

He said the ministry would also discuss with industry representatives in other countries to promote the country’s creative sector, particularly films and animations on Borneo or on the two Malaysian states there, namely Sabah and Sarawak.

“Borneo conjures up a certain image to the outside world and this can be utilised by producing contents on Borneo, its Orang Utan, natural wonders and stories with the vast island as the setting,” he said.
