SD Asian Film Festival offers many options
The 11th annual San Diego Asian Film Festival opens Thursday night with an action film, then challenges its attendees to take some action by voting —- not on films, but issues and candidates.
“This year, one of our social causes is voting,” said festival spokesman Daniel Matthews. “With the election right around the corner, we feel it’s very important for all of our festival guests to be aware of this, and to push them to vote.
As always, the festival will premier its short documentaries, the Reel Voices project, created during the summer by high school students countywide. The free program screens at noon Sunday.
The festival continues to grow in size and quality every year, Matthews said. “As long as people continue to support us, the growth will continue for a very long time,” he said.
