The awards show that recognises Malaysia film industry, the Malaysian Film Festival, is back for the 23rd time this month on Sunday, Oct 24 at 8pm.

The awards show will start with the Red Carpet and be on live on TV1, from 8.30pm until 10.30pm. The hosts for the night are Zizan (Raja Lawak), Sharifah Shahirah and Hezrie Hashim.

The top five nominees for Best Actor are Bront Palarae (for his role in Belukar), Esma Danial (Santau), Farid Kamil (La­genda Budak Setan), Syamsul Yusof (Evolusi KL Drift 2) and Zul Huzaimy (Haq).

The top five nominees for Best Ac­tress are Jasmin (Estet), Lisa Surihani (Lagenda Budak Setan), Maya Karin (Pisau Cukur), Mislina Mustaffa (Karaoke) and Putri Mardiana (Santau).
