“Making a film is like getting married. You have to be fully committed,” Filipino director Milo Sogueco told the press in China after his film, Sanglaan, won an award at the recently concluded Shanghai International Film Festival.

In an interview with Inquirer Entertainment, Sanglaan writer and producer Gay Ace Domingo quoted the Certificate of Merit that the film received from the SIFF. She said jurors were pleased with Sogueco’s ability to come up with an “emotional and meaningful” story, in spite of “limited budget and production time.”
