Cine.SG rounds up its screenings for the year with a veritable Singapore classic: Medium Rare. I don’t know when this 1991 film was last shown here, but it’s surely won itself a place in the history books, if only by dint of being the first English-language Singapore film to hit the scene before there was the faintest whiff of a “film industry” to talk about in Singapore.

The film is loosely based on the ritualistic murders committed by Adrian Lim, his wife and his mistress in Singapore in the early 1980s. While the high-profile murders meant that no one ever looked at the name “Adrian Lim” the same way again, what impact did the film Medium Rare have? Watch it for yourself and see: Saturday, November 25 at 2:30 pm (note that this is not Cine.SG’s usual screening time). Tickets are available at TicketCharge or at the door.
